This course will prepare you to work both on stage and off as an actor, versatile performer, devisor, performance facilitator, lighting and sound technician or creative animateur. You will develop skills and techniques in acting and technical theatre through tutor-led practical exploration of different processes and investigation of different theatre styles and techniques as well as through performance projects.
On this course you will also gain experience of theatre production in the professional context in our theatres which are equipped with professional lighting, sound and digital technical resources. The staff draw on extensive industry experience and research to inform your studies and you will take part in a number of stimulating challenges, both practice based and theoretical. This will help you to acquire and develop a range of technical skills as well as expand your knowledge of performance strategies and discourses.
As a graduate in Acting with Technical Theatre, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a career in small-scale touring, technical theatre, production, performing, teaching, arts and management, community arts and educational outreach
