To enrol in this unit, you must have completed these prerequisite units (or have credit, advanced standing or exemption for them), or be able to demonstrate that you have equivalent background knowledge.
Advanced Chinese – English Translation on Business Topics 2 unit complements Advanced Chinese – English Translation on Business Topics 1, consolidating and extending knowledge gained in Chinese - English Translation for Business Communication and Chinese - English Translation on Business Topics to help students further develop their trannslation skills in business situations in both China and the English-speaking world. Students will apply learned skills to a wide range of authentic materials spanning topics such as property economics, loans and mortgages, superannuation and pensions, asset allocation, estate planning (related mainly to Australian and Chinese contexts) and idioms used in business texts. Students in the unit will develop a high level of cross-cultural awareness – essential for performing professional translation tasks in government and companies providing financial services to the general public.
