Admission Requirements

Entry Requirement

Students must meet minimum entry requirements to study at CIT (these requirements will vary depending on your program and country of origin):

ACT Year 10 or equivalent* (A copy of your award and results are required);

OR

ACT Year 12 Senior Secondary Certificate or equivalent*  (A copy of your award and results are required)

English Requirement

ILSC Education Group studies are also recognised for entry into CIT programs. Completion of the following ILSC studies are the equivalent of an Academic IELTS score of 5.5 (with no band score less than 5.0)

Career Opportunity

You may enter this qualification through a number of entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training at Advanced Diploma level, including:
- successful achievement of a relevant or related Diploma qualification in photography, fashion, visual arts or a creative or design related qualification.
- extensive vocational experience in photography, fashion, visual arts or any other related creative or design industry
Applicants with no previous qualifications need to demonstrate extensive industry experience in any of the creative and design industries through a portfolio and at the interview. Those coming through this pathway will require a pre-requisite check prior to enrolment into specific units.
CIT may request that prospective students attend an interview session where they are required to present a portfolio of work a checklist of requirements will be provided for your discipline.
The portfolio and performance at interview will assess:
- skills and experience in your creative field
- aesthetic evaluation and judgment
- creative and innovative conceptual thinking
- motivation and interest in developing your creative skills
- communication and computer skills
- career and industry awareness
- work experience, where relevant
If you are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, and are using English as a second language (both oral and written), you must have English skills equivalent to or IELTS 6.
