Join the ranks of this growing field quickly becoming a major addition to modern healthcare.
Sports injuries can be serious. Treating acute injuries on the spot is not just about getting the player back in the game, but recognizing and properly handling potential life threatening conditions. Our physically active culture, aging population and physically demanding jobs are increasing the demand for athletic trainers - expert health care professionals who specialize in preventing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and sports-related illnesses, practicing under the direction and in collaboration with physicians.

Here's why more and more students are choosing Lewis University to earn their Athletic Training degree:

  • 5 diverse clinical experiences, starting as early as your first semester on campus

  • One of the top NCAA Division II athletic schools in the nation provides the perfect backdrop for on-site experience

  • The growing trend to put an Athletic Trainer in every high school and every private medical practice

  • Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)

  • Internship and work placement opportunities through our local affiliate partners

  • Small class sizes provide the perfect learning environment for hands-on real-life application

  • Impressive and caring faculty, including Dr. Pietro Tonino, Chief of Sports Medicine at Loyola University, who also serves as Medical Director here at Lewis

  • 100% pass rate on the Board of Certification exam to become a Certified Athletic Trainer from our 2012 graduating class
