These may include areas such as mental health, homelessness, family and domestic violence, child protection, employment support, migrant services and a specific pathway in to the child protection industry.

  • Placement will not only ensure you are competent and work ready, but will also provide you with experience working as a community services worker, valuable networks and references for when you are looking for a job in the field.
  • Students in the day course will also take part in a community project that will give you the skills to develop, implement and review projects within the community services sector.

  • Part of the course training is offered in our modern simulation lab, where you will get to practice and experience intake, assessment and counselling skills with real life scenarios.
  • If you are interested in pursuing a career in DHHS child protection, you will need to complete the Diploma of Community Services (Case Management) as you require an ACWA (Australian Community Workers Association) accredited course to work in that area.
