To gain entry into SIT50116 Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management candidates require:
Domestic students are encouraged to either undertake SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism or be currently working in the industry before commencing the SIT50116 Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management.
This is a current, nationally accredited qualification from the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package
This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of tourism or travel skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate travel or tourism operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others, and make a range of operational business decisions.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in many travel and tourism industry sectors as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes travel agencies, tour wholesalers, tour operators, inbound tour operators, tourist attractions, visitor information centres, and other tourism businesses.

When selecting electives, choose units at a suitable level. The first number in each unit code indicates the year level at which the subject is taught. Undergraduate units are coded at 100 to 300 level, therefore units coded as BUS1xx, BUS2xx and BUS3xx would be first, second and third year units respectively. Within the whole course, you must ensure you complete no more than 100 credit points at 100 level, and at least 60 credit points at 300 level or above.
