English requirements

  • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL), 60, Official results must be sent to us electronically by the testing service.

  • Cambridge Assessment English, 180 and above on C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency, Use the “Send Your Results” function of the Candidate Results portal to send your results to Ryerson (candidates.cambridgeenglish.org, external link, opens in new window). 

  • Duolingo English Test, 115, Ryerson will continue to accept Duolingo English Test for admission consideration for fall 2021. Official results must be sent to us electronically by Duolingo. International English Language Testing System (IELTS), 6.5, Official results must be sent to us electronically by the test centre. Test takers must contact the test centre where they took the test to have results sent. We do not accept results sent by surface mail or provided by the applicant.

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE), 60, Official results must be sent to us electronically by Pearson.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), 83+ iBT. Note: TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition  (launched in select countries in March 2020) will be accepted., Official 

Course Information

Located in the heart of Canada’s Financial District, the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) welcomes approximately 400 students each fall. The Ted Rogers School of Management has consistently provided top-notch accounting and finance course offerings to their students, and the School of Accounting and Finance continues to hold itself to a standard of excellence.

Accounting and Finance classes have long been an important part of the Ted Rogers School of Management. With the creation of a separate school, we are better able to hone the skills required of accounting and finance professionals in today’s ever-changing business world.

We are excited to be the only separate School of Accounting and Finance in the heart of Canada’s Financial Sector, and can’t wait to see the great things our graduates will do in the future. We foster relationships with the major accounting and finance firms and regulatory bodies to ensure that there will be networking events, in-class workshops, and employment opportunities available for you.

With a BComm in Accounting you can obtain the necessary credits to start your career path toward the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation. With this designation you could pursue a career as an auditor, chief financial officer or controller.

With a BComm in Finance, some career options available to you are: Securities Trader, Portfolio Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Personal Financial Planner.
