Ontario High School Curriculum

  • Minimum admission range of high 70s.
  • Competitive admission range of mid 80s. 
  • English at 60%.
  • Advanced Functions at 60%.
  • One of Calculus & Vectors, Chemistry or Physics at 60%.
  • All required courses calculated in admission range, including English 

English Requirements

Laurier’s language of instruction is English. If your first language is not English, you must provide evidence of your English proficiency to our Recruitment and Admissions office.

You can:

  • Submit a minimum score on an accepted test of English proficiency (listed below); or

  • Complete the Laurier English and Academic Foundation (LEAF) program.

If you have studied in an English-language school system on a full-time basis for a minimum of three years, you may request an exemption.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT): an overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each component.

  • Paper-based testing: 560 overall.

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS), An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.

  • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL), 70 overall; 60 in each band.

  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE), 59 overall or higher.

  • Cambridge Assessment English (CAE), Overall score of 176.

  • Duolingo English Test, Minimum score of 115.

Our Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science and Physics program provides you with a unique opportunity to obtain practical computer programming skills while gaining knowledge of modern physics.

Graduates of this combined program are ready to fill the demands of a developing technology sector.

Our Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science program teaches you the fundamentals of programming, algorithm design and computation. You'll learn about data management and analysis to gain a fundamental understanding of big data and its use within industry.

Our BSc in Physics program provides a strong foundation in Newtonian and modern physics, quantum mechanics, electricity, magnetism, optics and electronics, all in combination with mathematics. You also have the opportunity to learn about electronics and applied physics in more depth through specialized courses.

When combined, our BSc in Computer Science and Physics program provides you with a unique opportunity to obtain practical computer programming skills and, at the same time, gain knowledge of modern physics.
