Entry Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.

  • International students who are BC high school graduates must have a minimum grade of “C” in English 12 for direct entry into an academic program.

  • Up to 30 advanced credits may be granted for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate (higher level) courses.

Course Information

The Physical Education diploma is the first two years of the Bachelor of Kinesiology, or Bachelor of Arts, Minor in Kinesiology. The diploma assists students in seeking employment in the health and fitness industry, municipal parks and recreation programs and other sports programming. 

Students must complete 60 semester-credit-hours of coursework with a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0 (“C”) to be eligible for the diploma. Students who have been awarded advanced credit standing must complete a minimum of 30 semester-credit-hours at VIU, with a Grade Point Average of 2.0 (“C”). Students should be aware that admission to the diploma program does not guarantee registration in all the required courses.
