Admission Requirements

Entry requirements:

English level:

TAFE SA accepts the following English tests:

  • Academic IELTS score of 5.5 Overall with minimum of 5.0 in all bands or equivalent.

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Minimum 42 with 36 in all for communicative skills ((listening, reading, writing and speaking)

  • Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – PT and iBT: Score of 46, with reading: 4-7, listening: 4-6, speaking: 14-15, and writing: 14-17

  • University of Cambridge – ESOL Examinations for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CEP) or the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Overall score of 162 with a minimum of 154 in all bands

Other requirements:

Completion of both Accounting Principles Skill Set and Advanced Accounting Principles Skill Set OR Diploma of Accounting

Our Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60217) will develop your expertise in budget preparation, management accounting, financial accounting, financial performance, internal control systems, income tax, financial analysis, economic principles, financial statistics and corporate governance. With our focus on employability, you’ll be mentored by educators who have strong industry links, ensuring that you’ll complete the qualification job-ready. By completing this course, you’ll be qualified to work as an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Manager, and Registered Tax Agent. Want to continue your study? You’ll have guaranteed entry into university and receive up to 12 months credit towards a university degree in Business, Accounting, Commerce and Finance.

This course covers knowledge and skills in accounting, tax, finance, statistics, marketing and law as they apply to the accounting profession, as well as to the broader Australian business environment. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 3 core units and 11 elective units.

  • Accounting Principles Skill Set comprises the following 7 units : Prepare financial reports; Process financial transactions and extract interim reports; Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers; Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry; Set up and operate a computerised accounting system; Complete business activity and instalment activity statements; Establish and maintain payroll systems.
  • Advanced Accounting Principles Skill Set comprises the following 6 units : Provide financial and business performance information; Prepare tax documentation for individuals; Manage budgets and forecasts; Prepare financial reports for corporate entities; Implement and maintain internal control procedures; Provide management accounting information.
