Admission Requirements

Entry requirements

  • (i) Hold an undergraduate degree (at least equivalent to New Zealand pass standard) or a graduate diploma, bachelor honours degree, postgraduate diploma or postgraduate degree, awarded by a tertiary institution approved by the Academic Board; or
    (ii) Possess a qualification awarded by a recognised tertiary or professional organisation as approved by the Academic Board as being of an appropriate standard either for direct entry, or for entry conditional upon satisfactory completion of a prescribed bridging programme of study; and
  • (i) Have completed a minimum of two years’ equivalent full-time relevant work experience as approved by the Academic Board; or
    (ii) Hold an undergraduate degree (at least equivalent to New Zealand pass standard) or a graduate diploma, bachelor honours degree or postgraduate diploma in cognate discipline areas awarded by a tertiary institution approved by the Academic Board and include course BUAD920 Internship in their programme of studies;

English requirements

  • IELTS 6.5 academic (with no band less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL iBT 79 (with a writing score of 21)
  • PToE academic score of 58
  • AIS TEP 56 or equivalent with no band less than 13

Course Information

The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) comprises 8 courses of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and is ideally suited to busy managers seeking to increase their career skills in a shorter time frame.

The option to complete an MBA degree with six months further study makes the PGDBA an attractive option. Classes are run Saturdays and Sundays so business leaders can maximise their valuable time.

  • BUAD801 Decision Support Tools and Techniques

  • MGMT801 Management in a Multicultural Environment

  • MKTG801 Marketing and Enterprise

Plus four elective courses chosen from:

  • ECON802 Economics and Global Trade

  • FINA802 Financial Intelligence

  • FINA903 Financial Risk Management

  • MGMT902 Enterprise and Information Systems

  • MGMT904 Global Strategy and Leadership

  • MKTG802 Strategic Marketing – Brands, Products and Services
