Admission Requirements

Entry Requirement

A completed Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a University or other tertiary education provider.
OR
A completed Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture from a University or other tertiary education provider (or equivalent).
OR
Relevant Industry experience from the agricultural/business sector of at least 2 years or equivalent knowledge gained through alternate means.
AND
Minimum CSU English Language Proficiency requirements apply.

English Requirement

For most courses at Charles Sturt University, you can meet the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements by doing one of the following:

  • providing evidence of having completed a sufficient standard of study in English

  • obtaining Academic IELTS within the last 2 years, with a minimum overall score of 6 and no individual score below 5.5

  • obtaining a qualification deemed to be equivalent to Academic IELTS (and its minimum scores) by Charles Sturt.

Course Information

Drive meaningful change through the development of creative and critical perspectives on sustainability, and innovative ways of enhancing agriculture for the medium to long term.

Holistic approach

This course emphasises socially acceptable and economically viable sustainable systems that enhance or maintain the natural resource base and ecosystems influenced by agriculture. It includes subjects in resource economics, managing rural change, and reading in science and agriculture. Elective subjects are available in agriculture/rural management, irrigation and water resource management, cropping systems management, and extension and capacity building.

Find your path

You can complete the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Sustainable Agriculture with credit in each higher level for the subjects completed. You can also choose to complete between one and four subjects a session, or choose to study a limited range of subjects during Session 3 (November to February) to speed up your progress through the course.
