Course Information

Strategic management for technical professionals

With the profusion of data and the rapid emergence of new technologies in today's digital world, effective strategic management of information systems is vital to any successful organisation.

Get a specialist qualification that is designed for IT professionals who want to build on their knowledge and experience.

What you'll study

The PGCertIM will build on your existing IT knowledge to help you develop a deeper understanding of how organisational and societal considerations influence and are influenced by information technology. For this programme, you'll study two core courses and choose a further two elective courses.

How you'll learn

Learn in the evenings through lectures and class seminars, tackling projects and assignments based on real-life problems and situations.

You'll attend lectures and class seminars tailored to students used to working in the technology environment. Learn alongside and share experiences with other professionals who come from a variety of technical backgrounds.

Study while you work

Study full time or part time. Your classes will be held after normal working hours, so you can study part time and continue working.

Each course requires about 10–12 hours of study per week. Many students' demanding professional lives mean they choose to study part-time and only take one or two courses at a time.

For the PGCertIM, your minimum completion time is one trimester and your maximum is two years.
