To be eligible for admission to the Master of Science in Accountancy program, an applicant must have earned:
A total score of at least 1,100, which is the sum of the GMAT score and 200 times the GPA for the last 60 hours in an accredited undergraduate degree program.
A minimum GMAT score of 480.
A minimum GPA of 2.75 for the last 60 hours in an accredited undergraduate degree program.
Note: If you are a Western Michigan University accountancy major with an average grade point of 3.0 or higher in five of the following eight courses (or equivalents), you are not required to take the GMAT: ACTY 3100, 3110, 3130, 3220, 3240, 4160 and two of the electives (4110, 4140, 4220 and 4240).
Students may demonstrate English proficiency in any of the following ways:

Successful completion of a WMU Pathway II or the final level in the WMU Center for English Language and Culture for International Students (CELCIS)
Completion of a WMU degree
Cambridge Advanced English Certificate: a grade of A or B graduate
SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing Subscore (EBRW): 500 (for most programs)*
Michigan English Test (MET): 57 graduate (for most programs)*
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): C1 graduate (for most programs)*
The Western Michigan University Master of Science in Accountancy program is designed to provide greater breadth and depth in accounting than that delivered in an undergraduate accountancy program. The curriculum helps students further develop their technical expertise, communication skills and understanding of the role of accountants in organizations. The program will prepare graduates for entry-level accounting positions and career advancement. Graduates of the program will be qualified for positions in a wide range of organizations including public accounting, industry and government.
