Course Information

With a practical emphasis on the latest sports science, you’ll learn about psychology, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, strength and conditioning and performance analysis to help you give future sports stars the winning edge.

You’ll also learn about health issues from internationally acknowledged experts, giving you the real-world experience to qualify for public health roles.

With access to sports laboratory and testing equipment in our specialist sport and teaching facility, this is a course that focuses on practical hands-on training to set you up for a career in sports science.

Career Opportunity

Using real-world examples as part of your assessment, you’ll develop knowledge and understanding that you can apply to contemporary sports science and health issues. For example you might be developing your entrepreneurial skills by working with business partners to develop solutions to real problems such as childhood obesity.

Volunteering, placements, networking and enterprise activities are all part of the experience that will help you develop your career potential. You’ll get real hands-on experience through work placement to boost your profile with future employers.

You’ll have the opportunity to study or work abroad for a semester or a full year. Past students have worked with elite football teams in Dubai, including those in the Arab Premier League, and coached young people in Zambia alongside educating them on health issues such as HIV and Aids. Other students have been placed with the Women’s Canadian Rugby Team and with the Olympic Ski Training Team in Whistler and Colorado.
