Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent, or 19 years of age and out of secondary school for at least one year as of the first day of classes.

English Requirements

  • English 12 with minimum 60% or alternatives.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS - academic version) Pharmacy Technician must have an overall band score of 6.5, Overall band score of 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0)

  • *Language Proficiency Index (LPI) – Essay Score: 24/40 - Level 4

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)2, 79 (Internet-based), or 213 (computer-based), or 550 (paper-based)

  • Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL online or CAEL CE), Overall score 60

  • Pearson Test English (Academic), Overall score 56. No Communicative Skills score lower than 55

Program Highlights

Designed for those who work with peoples with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), this program provides the foundational knowledge and skills often required for professionals, parents and/or caregivers. Courses include hands-on instruction in the provision of good care, education and social life strategies as well as creating a plan for a lifetime with ASD.

Program Details

This 81-hour program is for persons who work, interact and live with persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Courses will provide a thorough overview of ASD focusing on both theory and practical skills that will be useful for professionals, parents and/or caregivers. Multiple strategies, examples and tips, as well as concrete suggestions and in-depth resource listings that can be used to greatly enhance the quality of interactions with persons with autism in home, educational, daycare, social work or caregiver settings will be presented.
