Course Information

In a dynamic and interconnected global economy, the role of management has never been more important.

We’ll equip you to be a holistic, resourceful, innovative and reflective practitioner of management, able to independently identify and develop your own specialisms. You’ll be numerically and digitally literate, robust and ethically sound, sensitive to diversity and fully adaptable: a decision-maker able to cope with the demands of the 21st century workplace.

You'll gain an understanding of cutting-edge management theory, and develop deeper insight by putting your learning into practice during your year in industry. With a more flexible structure than the equivalent BSc, you can choose from a wide range of specialised modules to meet your interests.

Year 1

In Year 1, you'll study core modules which introduce some of the key concepts and techniques used in business and management. The modules give a broad overview of topics you may want to specialise in in later years, with assessments designed to develop your academic skills.

Core modules

You will take core modules which may include:

  • Introduction to Management and Professional Development

  • Business Accounting

  • Foundations of Business Ethics

  • Information Criticality

  • Behaviour in Organisations I

  • Management and the Business Environment: Economic Theory and Practice

Year 2

In Year 2 you'll develop your understanding further, and explore some new areas of study. Modules build on the concepts introduced in Year 1. You'll explore challenging questions and apply your learning to practical business problems.

Our dedicated Placements Office advertise hundreds of vacancies each year. You can find placements in all sorts of industries, all over the world. The dissertation is completed over the whole year.

A dissertation draws on the knowledge and skills you have developed throughout your degree. You'll collect and analyse empirical data to illuminate or solve a complex issue or problem in the field of business and management.
