Course Information

Develop a broad understanding of childhood and youth in its social, cultural and political contexts on a degree which also explores all aspects of crime and criminal justice. This degree enables you to examine the development of children and young people alongside society’s understanding of, and reaction to, them. You will also examine perspectives on the causes of crime and violence and the role and function of the criminal justice system, analysing the significance of social status in the provision of justice and rights. If you want to develop knowledge, understanding and expertise in these two inter-related subject areas and keep your options open for a wide range of potential careers, including youth and community work and youth justice, then this is the degree for you.
