Accounting is a key management tool for business planning, monitoring and control that can create a range of career opportunities in government and in business, management and finance across a multitude of industries. Through a combination of required units and electives, students will gain requisite knowledge and skills in many areas of Accounting and related fields. As students develop an understanding of accounting principles and practices, they explore the relationship between accounting, finance and economics, the law, management and marketing. Students also have the opportunity of selecting four elective units, so as to tailor the degree to individual needs.
Subject to any course credits applied, students completing this course will satisfy the educational requirements for admission to the major professional accounting bodies of CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, subject to pending TEQSA Course Re-Accreditation.
