Entry Requirement

Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.
In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.

Course Information

A UOW Arts and Commerce degree will teach you the essential skills needed to think critically about the world of business. At the same time you will study the traditional areas of Arts including history, literature, languages and philosophy and the disciplines of social sciences; cultural studies, sociology and politics.  In this degree you will learn essential skills to utilise in your everyday life for decades to come. These include effective communication and problem solving, negotiating, and collaboration and time management; all skills essential for high achievement in a range of global business, government or NGO careers.

What you will study

You will choose one major in the Bachelor of Arts degree; Archaeology and Ancient History, English Literatures, Environmental Humanities, French, History, Indigenous Studies, Japanese, Legal Studies, Mandarin (Non-Chinese Background Students), Mandarin (Character Background Students), Philosophy, Photography, Politics, International Relations, Sociology, Spanish, Creative Writing, or Writing and English Literatures. In addition to the arts major you will also choose a minor or a second major from the Bachelor of Arts offerings.

You will also choose one major from the Bachelor of Commerce degree: Accountancy, Business Law, Economics, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Supply Chain Management.
