Admission Requirements

Entry requirements 

Subject prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

English requirements

  • IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0

  • TOEFL Internet based (iBT): overall score of 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing.

  • La Trobe College Australia ELICOS (LTCA): completion of EFS level 5B with minimum 60% overall and 60% in final exam.

  • La Trobe College Australia Foundation Studies (LTCA): completion of Foundation studies with 60% in English (Academic Communication).

  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50.

  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.

  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.

Course Information

La Trobe's Bachelor of International Business equips you with the knowledge and skills required by businesses competing in an international environment. You'll cover economics, finance, management, data analysis and marketing with a global perspective. Explore key issues in digital business, corporate responsibility and the challenges of economic development and sustainability.

You'll have opportunities to connect with industry, both in the classroom and in the field. Flexible electives may enable you to complete an international study tour or a semester at an international partner university (subject to travel restrictions). You may also be able to apply for internships, enabling you to gain valuable, hands-on experience while you study.

You'll learn:

  • International economics and trade

    • Understand how global markets operate and countries interrelate. Examine the impact of international trade policies. Understand Australia's current position and future prospects in the global economy.

  • International management and finance

    • Explore the key challenges of operating across national borders. Identify how a highly globalised financial market affects multinational corporations and local businesses. Investigate how businesses respond to movements in exchange rates, foreign interest rates, labour costs and inflation.

  • International marketing

    • Learn about the nature of the international marketplace and digital economy. Explore the challenges facing marketing managers when operating in a global multicultural environment.
