Course Information

Engineering is an essential driving force in Southwest Louisiana, where economic expansion, energy resources and technological advancements have led to a high demand for graduates with chemical engineering degrees. Through the Engineering Advisory Board and Lake Area Industry Alliance/McNeese Engineering Partnership, the Department of Civil, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering at McNeese focuses on providing hands-on training and real-world experiences that develop skills to help meet requirements for chemical engineering jobs in Lake Charles, Southeast Texas and across the country.

Impact the environment, economy, society and world

McNeese’s Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering is interdisciplinary, combining scientific principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, life science and economics. You will learn how to use, produce, transform and transport chemical materials and energy while developing new and improved processes, components, systems and products that solve industrial and manufacturing problems safely and efficiently.
