Admission Requirements

Entry requirements

  • An international application for admission.
  • Official secondary school transcripts identifying subjects taken, marks received and graduation date.
  • Official transcripts with subjects and marks received from any colleges or universities attended.
  • Certified, literal translations of all credentials issued in any language other than English.
  • Undergraduate applicants who have no previous work at the post-secondary level must have at least a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) from a secondary school.

English requirements

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 70.
  • Completion of the University of Idaho American Language and Culture Program.
  • SAT evidence based reading & writing with a minimum score of 550. (SAT Taken March 2016 and After)
  • Duolingo English Test minimum score of 100
  • Completion from Lewis-Clark State College Institute of Intensive English Bridge Program.
  • Spokane College of English Language (SCEL), pass of Level 140
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.0.
  • Pearson (PTE) Academic with a score of 48
  • ELS Language Centers with a pass of Level 112
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English with a pass.
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English with a pass.
  • Cambridge International "O" Levels with a pass.
  • Michigan English Language Assessment Battery with a score of 74.

Course Information

Develop more reliable power systems. Design faster bullet trains. Build the next-generation minicomputer. These are just samples of the types of exciting projects you could lead as an electrical engineer.

In this program, you will learn how to design and test electrical circuits and systems for many different types of applications. For example, you could explore solutions for the storage and transmission of power; investigate the workings of cell phones, computers and MP3 players; study control systems in cars and planes; and much more.

Students in this program have special opportunities to work with the U.S. Navy designing autonomous submarines, fabricate next generation microelectronics that can be used in the newest computing technology, and spend summers at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
