This course is intended to give a student with limited knowledge of English a nearly native fluency in English and the standard level of English for academic purposes. Through the course the student will learn an extensive range of vocabulary and grammar to use in a wide variety of listening, reading and writing situations. They will also learn more nuanced formats and vocabulary for academic English.
At the end of the term the students should be able to reach the C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
•Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning.
•Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
•Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
•Can produce clear, well structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
