Admission Requirements

Entry requirements

  • Successful completion of Year 11 or above.

English requirements

  • Minimum English level of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
  • Candidates originating from student visa assessment levels 1 and 2 without the required IELTS score can undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy Indicator Test.

Other requirements

  • Applicants must also be aged 18 or above

  • Disability services / vulnerably people related screening

Course Information

This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers peoplewith disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance, community participation and well being. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must complete 160 hours of work as details in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.
