Our English courses are not just for people wanting to go to university. We know there are lots of reasons that you may want to improve your English, and we will help you achieve your goals. Join a class based on your English proficiency level and study for the period suited to your purposes.
You can start at the Griffith English Language Institute with any English proficiency level and study for the period suited to your own purposes. You will be placed in a class between Level 1 and Level 6 based on our placement test taken on arrival, or your proficiency test result if you have one.
If you are placed in Level 1, 2, 3 or 4, you will develop language skills for everyday communication: speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary, and pronunciation. At Levels 5 and 6, you will further improve your communication skills and also practise academic skills that will be useful for work or further study.
There's 20 hours of face-to-face learning in class plus an additional five hours of independent learning specially designed to add to the week’s classroom lessons. Class sizes are small so you receive personal attention from your teachers and can progress quickly through your studies.
You will develop language skills for everyday communication: speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary, and pronunciation. In the advanced levels, you can also practise academic skills.
