Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:
  • Grade 12 (or equivalent) or mature student status
  • English Studies 12/English First Peoples 12 with a minimum of 73% (or equivalent)
  • Foundations of Mathematics 11 or Pre-calculus 11 or Foundations of Mathematics 12 with a minimum C (or equivalent)
  • Note: Students with Pre-calculus 12 with a minimum C+ will be exempt from MATH 1100 and must make up the credits with an elective of their choice.
  • Computer Skills: If students entering the program have little or no experience using computers, they are advised to take an introductory computer course that familiarizes them with Microsoft application software.
English Requirements:
  • TOEFL - (IBT) 88+ with no section below 20 
  • TOEFL - Paper-Based 570+ TWE 4.5+
  • TOEFL - Computer-Based 230+ Essay 4.5+
  • IELTS - 6.5+ with no bands below 6.0
  • Duolingo - 125+ with no sub-score less than 115
  • MELAB 81+
  • CAEL Overall 70+ No subtest below 60
  • PTE 58 or greater and no communicative skills test scores below 55

Course Information

Apply your creativity and keen eye for detail toward a career in event management. This program provides a practical overview of the functions, skills and knowledge required to successfully plan, organize, manage, promote and evaluate a festival, convention, trade show or special event.

You’ll study the concept of event design, the strategic event planning process, and technical logistics—gaining the management skills needed to successfully execute any special event, anywhere.

Event management is one of the fastest growing and dynamic segments of the Canadian tourism industry. Our graduates work in a diverse range of roles including with Shambhala Music Festival, Live Nation Concerts, the Vancouver Convention Centre and Sun Peaks Resort.
