The Foundation Year in Film and Media provides an introduction to film, TV production and studies, and media. Through engaging with film making, current affairs and mass communication, you will begin to develop critical thinking, communication and problem solving skills that are essential for further study and future employment.
The foundation year will equip you with a desirable range of skills, which are later developed upon in our level four courses. The course will advance your ability to articulate your ideas in a variety of audio-visual and written formats.
Upon successful completion of the Foundation Year you will automatically progress onto one of the following degree courses:

The foundation year has been designed to provide a seamless transition onto one of our level four courses outlined in the Course Overview, and so you will have a focus on subject-specific modules that will ensure optimal preparation for your upcoming course.
Whilst learning the skills and knowledge you will need to continue onto an undergraduate degree, and a professional career, you will also build interpersonal skills by joining a vibrant and creative community that encourages collaborations and idea sharing across our film and media courses.
