For several years, international students have been contributing to the special character of Glendowie College. The Director of International Students, together with the House Deans, provides student support in all pastoral care matters. This includes enrolment, orientation, academic programmes, academic counselling, insurance, designated caregiver and homestay service arrangements. Regular contact is made with designated and extra care-givers and homestay providers. Our College is a signatory to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. To meet the Code of Practice Requirements and Standards, regular contact is maintained between the Director of International Students, the Homestay Director and each student and their homestay family. Guidance for international students in their own language is available if required.
Glendowie College has a team that supports international students with their language. When international students come to school, they will receive orientation advice right after the start of the course, the school will provide the necessary information about the course and life in New Zealand. Students can discuss the course with the school.
