In Year 10 the emphasis is to further develop the learning of core subjects and skills which will provide a sound foundation for the entry to senior years. All subjects at this year level are compulsory.
Students have four periods a week of Science and Social Studies, three periods of English and Mathematics, two periods of Physical Education and two periods of Language, Technology, Art or other subjects.
Students must study a total of four optional subjects. They choose one option from categories A, B and C, and also one other which can come from any of the four categories.
The five core subjects continue into Year 10 as compulsory subjects.
