Join our multidisciplinary Masters course at Northumbria University and understand how Human Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience (UX), and Interaction Design (IxD) can improve products, services and organisational effectiveness.
As the ubiquity of interactive digital devices and services expands, the need to analyse how people use technology and understand user behaviour increases. The way in which we interact with technology in real-world – and often social - settings is complex however, and requires a deep cross-disciplinary understanding which necessarily draws on ideas, concepts and techniques not only from computer science but from psychology, design and the social sciences.
Our HCI masters welcomes students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. Whether you have any experience of software development, or not, this course will provide the skills needed to analyse behaviours and gain a better understanding of user experiences. You will become equipped to advise on technological based solutions that will improve the way people use and interact with technology and be able to recommend ways to improve products and services across a range of applied areas.
