In order to be considered for entry, you must have completed:
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree with the equivalent of a major in mathematically based subjects, for example, studies in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering;
MAST20004 Probability and MAST20005 Statistics or subjects in probability and statistics at an equivalent level; and
a personal statement outlining why they wish to be considered for the course.
Meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection.
In ranking applications, the Selection Committee will consider:
Prior academic performance; and
the personal statement.
The Selection Committee may seek further information to clarify any aspect of an application in accordance with the Admission and Selection into Course Policy.
For English language tests, we require documentary evidence of having obtained the minimum scores within the previous 24 months.

What is it about?
Melbourne Business School's Master of Actuarial Science (Enhanced) provides a graduate pathway to prepare you for the actuarial profession. Graduates of this degree will be analytical in the application of actuarial theory, knowledge, principles, techniques and data. They will be problem solvers capable of explaining, applying and critically evaluating the use of actuarial models, particularly in relation to insurance and superannuation.
The program is designed to provide exemptions from Part I (Foundation) and half of the Part II (Associateship) professional exams accreditation exemptions* for the Actuaries Institute.
Who is it for?
The two-year Master of Actuarial Science (Enhanced) is designed to provide non-actuarial graduates with their initial education in actuarial studies. It's suitable for graduates who have mathematical or statistical specialisations (e.g. mathematics, physics or engineering).
