  • For this programme, you will need the following:
  • A Bachelor's degree or Level 7 Graduate Diploma in the same or similar discipline with a B- average or above
  • A minimum of 8 credits at NCEA Level 2 in English (4 in reading, 4 in writing)

English requirements

If English is not your first language you will also need one or more of the following:

  • Have achieved NCEA Level 3 and New Zealand University entrance
  • Be able to provide evidence you satisfy our criteria for existing English proficiency
  • Have achieved at least one English proficiency outcome in the last two years

This programme provides you with the academic requirements for membership of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and the Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia); the pathway for those who want to become registered chartered accountants.

  • Advanced Financial Accounting (ACTY8102), 15.0 credits (0.125 EFTS), This course builds on the core financial accounting principles covered in the prerequisite paper and extends students’ knowledge, skills, and capabilities in relation to the application of financial reporting standards.
  • Strategic Management Accounting (ACTY8103), 15.0 credits (0.125 EFTS), This course covers the management accounting knowledge and skills required for strategic business decision making, planning, and control.
