English requirements
Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit scores from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Academic or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Citizens of the following countries who have undertaken secondary and/or tertiary study in English in the national education system (or equivalent) and/or at a recognised, local university in any of the countries listed below:

It is strongly recommended for applicants to take the TOEFL or IELTS at least one month prior to the application deadline..
If your test date is within one month of the application deadline, please be sure to email the scores to the office of admissions
You may submit scores from up to 4 valid TOEFL or IELTS exam dates. CMU Australia will use the highest score verified in each section if you have taken the exam more than one time. For every score you wish to include with your application, you must report the exam date(s) and submit the official score report(s). We will not accept exam scores for test dates that are not listed on the application.

If you took either of these tests more than two years ago, you MUST take it again. The testing agency will not verify scores more than two years old.
If your score is below the minimum on either exam, you should consider retaking the TOEFL/IELTS before applying.
Carnegie Mellon University in Australia can arrange English tuition at either the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) or at the South Australian College of English (SACE) in Adelaide for students who need to improve their English language skills to enter their chosen program (except global programs). This is a blended business-technology degree that combines a comprehensive technology and business curriculum with a unique global educational experience.
Studying across Carnegie Mellon’s Adelaide and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, campuses, you will gain an international perspective by learning in the United States and Australia with a strong focus on the Asia Pacific region. You will spend your 1st and 2nd study periods in Adelaide and 4th and 5th in Pittsburgh. You are also required to take 280 hours of internship in either Australia or internationally in your 3rd study period.
You are encouraged to customise your program by selecting a specialisation designed to advance your careers in: electronic commerce, business intelligence, information security management, IT strategy and management and healthcare informatics. The program specialisation is especially valuable for students who intend to pursue a career in IT and management consulting.

The program requires 192 units: 126 units of core courses (including Information Systems Project) and 66 units of elective courses.
Full-time students complete the program over five study periods and you will commence your study in Adelaide in August. The program is not available part-time.
For successful completion, you must complete the requisite coursework and internship components and achieve a cumulative quality point average (QPA) of at least 3.0.

Elective Courses
Students in MISM Global program are required to take at least 66 units of elective courses. A number of courses offered by the MISM program and the Heinz College will satisfy this requirement. In addition, the School of Computer Science, and other Carnegie Mellon departments offer courses that may satisfy this requirement. Check with your advisor before registering for a course from another academic unit if you wish to have it serve as an elective.
