Admission Requirements

Entry requirements

  • Have earned a degree in Health Informatics, B.S. or equivalent.

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher for the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work or a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

  • Submit three letters of recommendation that support the applicant for graduate study in health informatics.

  • Recommendation letters must be from previous academic faculty and/or from current or previous employers. If the applicant has been out of school or unemployed for more than five years, he/she may petition for a waiver or a substitution of references.

  • Submit a 1000-word personal statement for pursuing the MS in Health Informatics.

  • Complete an interview with the Admissions Committee scheduled on a mutually agreeable date and time. International students may request an interview via telephone, Skype, or web conference.

English requirements

  • an undergraduate major in Film, Media, Multimedia, Communications, English, or related areas

  • appropriate prerequisite coursework with a minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

  • International Students must meet the university language requirement for admission to the university. Applicants must take either Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Pearson Test of English (PTE).

  • For the IELTS, applicants must meet the minimum acceptable score of 6.0 academic version.

  • TOEFL Exam scores: Paper - 550; Listening - 55; Reading - 54; Writing - 58; Computer Internet - 213; Listening - 21; Reading - 24; Writing - 21; Internet (iBT) - 80: Listening - 20; Speaking - 20; Reading - 20; Writing - 20.

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Exam score 53: Listening - 53; Speaking - 53; Reading - 53; Writing - 53.
