Admission into the MME program requires the submission of:
Official transcripts for coursework and degree completion verification in music education or an approved equivalent.
A Letter of Interest (minimum of 500 words, maximum of 750) stating current professional status/goals after obtaining the MME degree and a brief overview of your philosophy of music education.
Resume or Curriculum Vitae.
A minimum of three (3) professional letters of recommendation.
An example of your teaching (must be an audio-visual recording of an ensemble or group music lesson; minimum of 5 minutes, maximum of 10 minutes).
Incoming international graduate students must meet one of the criteria’s set forth in the below chart.

The Master of Music Education degree consists of 32 hours of advanced study in music and education. The comprehensive curriculum is designed for both public school educators as well as for those who plan to continue study at the doctoral level. Classes are scheduled to allow degree completion either as a full-time or part-time student. The Department of Music entrance examinations in music education, music history, music theory, and ear training assist in planning each student’s exact course of study.
