Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship
For academically outstanding future international students in all fields of study. The key criteria for students is to exceed the academic and English entry requirements for the program and present themselves as an outstanding academic candidate.
Value: $5000. Paid in the second session of full-time study as a reduction in tuition fee.
Selection criteria
- The applicant is an international onshore student wanting to study at the Gold Coast, Lismore or Coffs Harbour campus.
- The student is not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand.
- The student must receive an offer to a full undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
- Applicants must meet the academic entry requirements and be able to demonstrate high academic achievement for the relevant degree.
- Students must successfully complete all units in their first session, by obtaining at least a pass in all units, to remain eligible for the scholarship.
Vice Chancellor’s International Diversification Scholarship
This scholarship celebrates the diversity of nations with international students attending Southern Cross University.
Value: $5000. A one-off payment made in the second session of full-time study as a reduction in tuition fee after successful completion of the first session of study.
Selection criteria:
- The applicant is an international onshore student wanting to study at the Gold Coast, Lismore or Coffs Harbour.
- The student is not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand, India or Nepal.
- The student must receive an offer to a full undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at either the Gold Coast, Lismore or Coffs Harbour campus.
- Meet the minimum admission entry requirements of the University including English language proficiency.
- Students must successfully complete all units in their first session, by obtaining at least a pass in all units, to remain eligible for the scholarship.
Dr Alan Phan Scholarship
In memory of a famous SCU Alumni – Dr Alan Phan. This scholarship is only offered to Vietnamese students with excellent academic standards, who want to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in business or tourism at Southern Cross University.
Value: $5000. Paid in the second session of full-time study as a reduction in tuition fee.
Selection criteria:
- The applicant is an international onshore student from Vietnam.
- The student is not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand.
- The student must receive an offer to a full undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree from the School of Business and Tourism at either the Gold Coast, Lismore or Coffs Harbour campus.
- Student is demonstrably academically gifted.
- Meet the minimum admission entry requirements of the University including English language proficiency:
- Undergraduate entry: A qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 and the required entry grade for the program for which they have applied; and English language comparable to Academic IELTS 6.0 with no band less than 5.5
- Postgraduate entry: A qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree; and English language comparable to Academic IELTS 6.5 and no band less than 6.0
- Students must successfully complete all units in their first session, by obtaining at least a pass in all units, to remain eligible for the scholarship.
SCU International Women in STEM Scholarship
This scholarship aims to attract new female international students wanting to study a full undergraduate or postgraduate degree from the School of Environment, Science and Engineering or School of Health and Human Sciences at the Gold Coast, Lismore and Coffs Harbour campuses at Southern Cross University.
Value: $5000. Paid in the second session of full-time study as a reduction in tuition fee.
Selection criteria
- The applicant is a female international onshore student wanting to study a full undergraduate or postgraduate degree from the School of Environment Science and Engineering or School of Health and Human Science at the Gold Coast, Lismore or Coffs Harbour campus only.
- The student is not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand.
- The student must have high academic performance in maths and science and meet the minimum admission requirements of the University, including English language proficiency.
- Students must successfully complete all units in their first session, by obtaining at least a pass in all units, to remain eligible for the scholarship.
