University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarship
For talented international students who demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to become global ambassadors for the University of Waikato. Applicants must be intending to enrol at the University of Waikato for the first time in either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. See the table of eligible countries in the regulations.
University of Waikato Doctoral Scholarship
When students apply to enrol in a PhD, DMA, EdD or SJD they will be asked to indicate whether they wish to be considered for a UoW Doctoral Scholarship on the Application to Enrol form. Applications will be considered in three rounds a year: 31 January, 31 May and 30 September.

University of Waikato Research Masters Scholarship
For students intending to enrol full-time in a 500-level thesis of 90 points or more as part of their first master's degree at the University of Waikato. International students must have completed at least 120 points of study at a New Zealand university in order to be eligible for this Scholarship.
Computer Science Undergraduate Scholarship
For students who are currently in Year 12 or Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school. Candidates must be intending to enrol full-time in a BCMS(Hons), BSc, BSc(Tech), BE(Hons) or BDes degree, in one of the computing streams, at the University of Waikato. Candidates will sit a Scholarship exam, which will be held on 25 and 26 October 2019.
Dr Zena Daysh Fellowship in Sustainable Development
For students enrolling or intending to enrol in a PhD at the University of Waikato with a research interest in a field relevant to sustainable development. Candidates may come from a range of academic disciplines, provided their research aligns with Dr Zena Daysh's mission to promote an holistic, integrative, and sustainable approach to development.
FASS 120- / 240-point Masters Thesis Awards
For students enrolling part- or full-time in a 120-point Masters degree or in the thesis year of a 240-point Masters degree and who will be doing either a 90-point thesis or a 120-point thesis in A Semester in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).
Hilary Jolly Memorial Scholarship
For students who will be enrolled or enrolling full in a masters or doctorate at the University of Waikato in the field of freshwater ecology in New Zealand. The scholarship has a value of up to $6,000 at Master’s for one year and $15,000 per year at doctoral that will not exceed three years.
Michael Baldwin Memorial Scholarship
For citizens of any South Pacific Nation (excluding New Zealander and Australian citizens), who can demonstrate a need for financial support in order to undertake study. Candidates must be enrolled or intending to enrol in an approved full-time study. The scholarship is valued up to $10,000.
Te Piringa - Faculty of Law Graduate Scholarship
For students who are eligible for admission and will be enrolling full- or part-time in a Master of Laws at Te Piringa - Faculty of Law, in the year of tenure. The Scholarship will have a value of up to $5,000.
Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao Graduate Excellence Awards
For students who are enrolled full-time in a graduate degree in the Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies at the University of Waikato. The Award will have a value of up to $5,000.
The A Zulauf Trust Scholarship
For students who are enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in the research portion (i.e. a 90- or 120-point thesis) of their Masters degree in Mathematics in the year of application. It is expected that the bulk of the research will take place in the year of application. The Scholarship has a value of up to $5,000.
