MEDIBANK International Education Scholarship

MEDIBANK International and UTS Insearch are delighted to reward the top two international students holding comprehensive Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) arranged through UTS Insearch. Each semester, the top performing student from the first stage of UTS Foundation Studies and the top performing student from the first stage of any diploma program, will each receive a A$4,000 contribution towards their UTS Insearch tuition fees for the following semester. This amount will be divided if more than two students achieve the same results.

Aspire advantage scholarship

Designed for high-achieving, dynamic students from the subcontinent, the Aspire Advantage Scholarship supports students completing an Accelerated Diploma program to kickstart their journey to UTS with an A$12,000 Scholarship. 

Leadership advantage scholarship

Unlock your full potential today and become a leader tomorrow with our Leadership Advantage Scholarship package, valued at A$7,000.

The scholarship package is a combination of financial support towards your tuition fees in one of our Academic courses and entry into our prestigious Leadership Program.

Elite Talent Scholarship Program

We want to reward students from across China who have put in the hard work and perseverance to excel in areas such as art, music, performing and sports, or community-building areas such as entrepreneurship and volunteering, or other interesting extra-curricular activities. That’s why we’re proud to offer the UTS Insearch Elite Talent Scholarship Program. Recipients of this scholarship will receive A$20,000 towards the academic tuition fees at UTS Insearch.

Scholarships for UTS students

As part of our relationship with the UTS Business School, UTS Insearch funds three scholarships designed for International students to complete a PhD in business.

China EIC Advantage Scholarship

The EIC Advantage Scholarship aims to further strengthen our valued relationship with China. This scholarship is available to students who study Academic English at EIC and intend on studying an academic program at UTS Insearch in Sydney.

The value of the scholarship is based on two levels:

• Level 1 - Study 20 weeks of Academic English at EIC and receive A$1,000 toward your UTS Insearch academic studies
• Level 2 - Study 30 weeks or more of Academic English at EIC and receive A$2,000 toward your UTS Insearch academic studies.

Pathway Scholarship to UTS

The UTS Insearch to UTS Pathway Scholarship supports high-achieving international students who wish to complete their undergraduate study at UTS. This scholarship is open to international students and covers half of the cost of tuition fees for the duration of the undergraduate program at UTS. Eight scholarships are awarded each year, four in each of the UTS Autumn and Spring session intakes.

Former North Korean students: The scholarships provide up to 30 weeks of English language tuition in Sydney for five students each year who are formerly from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The scholarships will cover return flights from South Korea to Sydney, accommodation, a living allowance and English Language tuition at UTS Insearch for up to 30 weeks.

Dianne Leckie Memorial Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and personal qualities. The top 10 international students with the highest Grade Point Average for the year who graduate from the Diploma of Business in any semester (one, two or three) are invited to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship covers tuition fees for two years’ study in the UTS Bachelor of Business program in addition to overseas health cover and student amenities fees. The total value is more than A$50,000.

Future Innovators Scholarship

We want to help future innovators and leaders across Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and New Caledonia to bring new ideas to life. That’s why we’re proud to offer the UTS Insearch Future Innovators Scholarship. UTS Insearch and the University of Technology Sydney can help you on your way. The recipient of this scholarship will receive a special promotion, reducing their UTS Insearch academic program by A$10,000.

Aspire Scholarship Program: The UTS Insearch Aspire Scholarship Program supports high-achieving students from the subcontinent realise their dream of studying in Australia and attending the country’s leading young university – the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) with the value of A$5,000.

Korea The IEN Advantage Scholarship: The scholarship value ranges between A$1,000 and A$2,000, depending on how many levels of Academic English you successfully complete at IEN. Students receive A$1,000 per level.

This means:

• If you successfully complete 1 level at IEN you receive a A$1,000 scholarship
• If you successfully complete 2 or more levels at IEN you receive a A$2,000 scholarship

The scholarship only applies to academic programs at UTS Insearch and the maximum scholarship value available per person is A$2,000.

International students will be allowed to work part-time after enrollment up to 20 hours per week. Employees will have a case file and tax code issued by the Australian Revenue Service.

Average overtime students can earn 6 - 15 AUD / hour, wages are higher if they work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Thus, you can earn about 800 - 1,500 AUD / month. If you are studying for a masters or doctorate, tutoring for younger students in the same industry will earn about 40 AUD / hour.

Homestay policy

This policy sets out the arrangements in relation to the provision and management of Insearch homestay service. UTS may also request Insearch to accommodate some of its students under 18 years of age with Insearch approved Homestay Providers. This policy applies to all international students (on a subclass 500 student visa) studying at Insearch, whether undertaking an ELT, Diploma, UTS Foundation Studies program, as well as international students under 18 years of age studying at UTS who request homestay accommodation and related welfare services. This policy also applies to any Insearch staff and Homestay Providers involved in the process of administration, selection, allocation and approval of homestay provision to students.

Student residential accommodation and welfare policy

International students may wish to stay at a Student Residential Accommodation Provider, as an alternative to Homestay, during their studies at Insearch. The policy ensures that Insearch meets all the necessary welfare and accommodation regulatory and legislative requirements for all students, in particular, those under 18 years of age. This policy applies to all students who: • are on a subclass 500 student visa and require a CAAW, and/or • are studying at Insearch in Sydney and undertaking an ELT, Diploma or UTS Foundation Studies program or a combination of courses; and • wish to stay with a Student Residential Accommodation Provider approved by Insearch during their studies. This policy also applies to UTS Direct Students, where UTS requests Insearch to provide the accommodation and welfare arrangements. This policy also applies to any staff member involved in the process of administration, selection, allocation and approval of accommodation and welfare arrangements.
