All undergraduate international applicants are required to submit official scores from either the SAT, the ACT, TOEFL or IELTS examinations. If an international student has taken classes in a US University or college; they must apply as a transfer student, and we will review all English courses on the transcript(s) to show English proficiency.
Alfred University reserves the right to request undergraduate applicants to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores if their SAT or ACT scores are inconclusive.

The Sculpture/Dimensional Studies Division at Alfred University draws on a diversity of conceptual and technical approaches to offer an expansive educational experience. From glass sculpture to neon work to paper, wood, metal and more, the Division provides students a creative experience inclusive of their preferred media. This study area is grounded in a material tradition while simultaneously promoting creative study challenging the ever-expanding field of sculpture.

First-Year/Foundations/Sophomore
Building off of the Freshman Foundations experience, the sophomore level courses in the Division of Sculpture/Dimensional Studies introduce you to a variety of ideas, materials, and processes that provide a wealth of alternatives and a base of knowledge that you can rely upon as you continue to develop.
Junior/Senior
Progressing through the curriculum into the junior and senior years, you're continually exposed to new challenges, both technically and conceptually, which allows you to expand your artistic voice and to question the relationships that exist between materials and themselves within the context of contemporary art practice.
