In the QS World University Rankings 2019, AUT is ranked as one of the top 500 universities in the world (ranked 464).
AUT’s international outlook was highlighted, with AUT ranking #28 in the world, the highest score for a New Zealand university.

In the QS ranking of the top 50 world universities under 50 years old, AUT was ranked in the #61-70 band. We are the 16th youngest university acknowledged in this ranking.
A five-star university
AUT has been rated as a five-star university by world university rankings organisation QS. We also achieved a maximum five stars for Teaching, Employability, Internationalisation, Facilities and Inclusiveness. AUT’s focus on Social Responsibility was recognised with a four-star rating.
The QS stars system uses a range of indicators to evaluate and benchmark the broader student experience and contribution of universities.

Auckland was ranked 23rd in the QS Best Student Cities rankings, due to a high score for quality of living, a large and diverse student community, and a high rating from graduate recruiters as a source of new talent.
