Optional SAT/ACT Testing
A holistic review of each applicant is at the center of our approach to enrolling a diverse group of students that strengthens the UVM community. UVM does not require international students to send SAT or ACT scores as part of the application process. We also recognize the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly limited access to testing sites and resources. Therefore, all applicants including US citizens abroad are not required to submit standardized test scores for Fall 2021 through Fall 2023, but are welcome to do so if they feel it will contribute to their academic record. Both the Common Application and the Coalition Application allow you to indicate if you want your standardized test scores considered.
Students who choose not to submit test scores will not be disadvantaged in any way, as all applicants will be considered for admission, merit scholarships, and selection to the UVM Honors College.
UVM’s College Board/SAT Code: 3920
UVM ACT Code: 4322
Send your official scores to the University of Vermont (official only if submitted directly from the testing agency*). You may send results for all tests you take; our admissions evaluation will consider your highest scores.
*Students applying through the Coalition Application can upload scores directly through their application.
Optional Interview
International applicants are welcome to participate in an optional interview. The interview will be used as part of the holistic review process, and it will be one among many factors that will be considered when reviewing your application. Options to participate:
Online Platform: Vericant or InitialView
Personal interview with an International Admissions Team member
ENVS students may earn their Environmental Studies degree through the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources or the College of Education and Social Services.
Students can choose which college best suits their broad educational needs, and then pursue the ENVS major from within that college/school. While major requirements differ slightly between units, the ENVS core curriculum is the same.
