Course Information

The Bachelor in Performing Arts (Hons) is aimed at students interested in pursuing a combined degree in the Performing Arts with an emphasis on an interdisciplinary approach. This course allows candidates to take study-units from three different performance disciplines – Dance Studies, Music Studies, and Theatre Studies – and follow a programme of study according to their aspirations by registering for specific study-units on offer in the course catalogue.

This approach at combining resources from the three disciplines in the School of Performing Arts (SPA) allows students to formulate and follow tailor-made programmes of their own personal choice. Students will be required to register for 60 ECTS credits every year, which will be divided approximately equally from the three areas of study offered by SPA (Dance, Music, Theatre). Any conditions pertaining to prerequisite study-units will apply, and there will be no synoptic examinations in the final year. The students will however be required to write a dissertation in combined performing arts involving at least two, or all three named disciplines.
