Course Information

Our Bachelor of Science in mathematics program equips students with a well-rounded skill set in both pure and applied mathematics. Students take a range of core and advanced courses to build strong foundations in both mathematics and science.

In addition to a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, we offer a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics. Both degrees provide strong foundations in advanced mathematics. The difference? B.A. students choose not only quality math electives based on their professional goals and interests, but also supporting courses from one or two other departments to shape a second major or two minors. The additional major or minors complement and enhance the student’s goals and interests and make the B.A. a great choice as a second major.

You'll learn how to:

  • Analyze and solve complex problems
  • Strengthen critical thinking skills
  • Develop confidence in your abilities
  • Apply mathematics in a variety of settings
  • Work in teams and communicate ideas

As a math major, you’ll build strong foundations with core classes in calculus, linear algebra and mathematical proofs. Students continue with advanced studies in pure mathematics (e.g., Real Analysis, Modern Algebra, Complex Variables) and applied mathematics (e.g., Numerical Analysis, Statistics, Differential Equations).
