Bachelor of Biomedical Science with a B+ average

English requirements

  • IELTS: Overall band of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0
  • TOEFL: A score of 90 on the internet-based test with at least 20 in writing
  • Pearson Test of English: A score of 58 with a ‘Communicative’ score of not less than 50
  • C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge English: A score of 176 or higher, with each skill score no less than 169
  • C2 Proficiency (formerly known as Cambridge English: A score of 176 or higher, with each skill score no less than 169
  • New Zealand Certificates in English Language (NZCEL): NZCEL Level 5 (Academic)
  • Victoria University of Wellington English Proficiency Programme (EPP): A minimum of two ratings of 5 and two ratings of 4

Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honours

Get a head start in your science career with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honours. If you have a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBmedSc) degree, with an average B+ grade or higher in relevant 300-level courses, you can enrol in the Honours programme.

You'll take 120 points, selecting from a range of biomedical course options that suit your interests and career goals. As part of this, you'll complete the 30-point Research Project (BMSC 489), where you'll do a research proposal, carry out original research, prepare a report and make an oral presentation.
