Subject prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

English Requirement

  • IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0

  • TOEFL Paper based: overall score of 550 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English).

  • TOEFL Internet based (iBT): overall score of 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing.

  • La Trobe College Australia ELICOS (LTCA): completion of EFS level 5B with minimum 60% overall and 60% in final exam.

  • La Trobe College Australia Foundation Studies (LTCA): completion of Foundation studies with 60% in English (Academic Communication).

  • Pearson Test of EConglish (Academic) (PTE): overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50.

  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.

  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.

 

Course Information

  • Demand for agribusiness professionals is growing, and you can start your career as a graduate participating in today's diverse and globally integrated agribusiness sectors, from farm to multinational companies.

  • This course offers you the opportunity to complete a major in Agribusiness alongside a disciplinary major in Management & Marketing or Accounting. Providing you with a solid understanding of business, economic and financial concepts for agricultural and associated businesses you will be ready and able to address the real issues facing agriculture and business within a changing international environment.

  • A feature of the course is a series of three agribusiness subjects each delivered at different regional campuses, providing you with a unique insight into different agribusinesses in different regions of Victoria. The course has a work integrated learning subject which will provide you with the opportunity to complete an agribusiness industry based work placement, where you will apply and demonstrate the skills you have acquired through the course.

  • In effect the course takes you on a state wide tour of regional Victoria agribusinesses industries and communities, where you will meet, talk and work with local agribusiness and community leaders.

  • Graduates are in high demand by industry businesses and government agencies: in agribusiness management, sales and marketing, export, commodity trading, supply chain, manufacturing and other diverse roles.

  • The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.
