English Requirements

For most courses at Charles Sturt University, you can meet the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements by doing one of the following:

  • providing evidence of having completed a sufficient standard of study in English

  • obtaining Academic IELTS within the last 2 years, with a minimum overall score of 6 and no individual score below 5.5

  • obtaining a qualification deemed to be equivalent to Academic IELTS (and its minimum scores) by Charles Sturt.

Other Requirements

Bachelor of Business Studies

Applicants for the Bachelor of Business Studies must meet the following Admission Requirements:

A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent) with an ATAR of 60 (including adjustment factors)
OR
Successful completion of two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
OR
A completed AQF Certificate III or higher level qualification.
OR
Minimum 50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification.
OR
Successful completion of a Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
OR
Work experience of no less than two years full time duration in areas related to the course as demonstrated by a detailed resume.

Applicants for the Bachelor of Business Studies - Canberra Institue of Technology must meet the following Admission Requirements:

Successful completion of a Diploma (incorporating a Cert IV) or Advanced Diploma (incorporating both a Cert IV and a Diploma) in a relevant field from Canberra Institute of Technology.
OR
Successful completion of a Diploma (incorporating a Cert IV) or Advanced Diploma (incorporating both a Cert IV and a Diploma) in a relevant field as approved by the Course Director.

Course Information

This course allows you to construct a program of study that best meets your interests and future work plans. The course draws upon the extensive portfolio of business subjects offered at CSU, as well as subject offerings of other CSU faculties. You can choose subjects from a wide range of business disciplines including marketing, management, information technology, accounting, economics, finance, leadership, project management and human resource management to build a degree tailored to your interests. There are no specialisations in this program. However, you may choose to cluster subject choices around particular areas of interest, or opt for an array of areas of study to give a taste of the various business areas to better inform you about potential career choices. Clusters include accounting, dispute resolution, economics, finance, human resources, information systems, innovation and entrepreneurship, international business, legal studies, management, marketing, communication and digital media, and small business management. You are also encouraged to consider undertaking subjects that develop job-ready skills.
