The NSW Health Department requires all students undertaking clinical placements at NSW Health hospitals and facilities to:
prior to employment or placement in any capacity in the NSW health system.
This criminal record clearance will be conducted by the NSW Police and/or the Australian Federal Police. Students are required to arrange for this check to be undertaken following enrolment, and the cost of the check will be their responsibility.
In addition, overseas’ students must also provide a Police Certificate from their home country/any country they have resided in, or a signed Statutory Declaration with no convictions/pending charges.

This one-year degree provides Australian registered nurses and International students with the opportunity to upgrade their qualifications to a Bachelor's degree level. Please note that this degree does not lead to eligibility to apply for registration as a nurse in Australia.

This degree
During this degree you will evaluate and apply concepts drawn from nursing theory and research to professional practice. You will develop an increased awareness of the effects of cultural, social, economic, legal and ethical influences on the development of the nursing profession and increased knowledge that will enable you to accept responsibility for more complex client management.
What you will study
You will study the core subjects of Promoting Clinical Excellence, Evidence Appreciation and Application in Health Care Practice, Leadership in Health Care Practice, and Community Development Nursing: Theory and Practice. In addition to these core subjects you will have the flexibility to choose elective subjects from a range of subjects on offer, including Family Centred Nursing, Therapeutic Use of Self, Contemporary Research in Practice, Cultural Competence in Health Care Practice, Therapeutics in Nursing, Challenges of Ageing and Practice Development, and Person Centred Nursing.
