We do not accept General Studies or Critical Thinking
Access to Higher Education Diploma, Pass 60 credits with at least 45 credits achieved at Level 3. You must achieve 24 level 3 credits at distinction and 21 level 3 credits at merit. At least 15 level 3 credits should be in science subjects. We will not normally consider applicants who have progressed to an access course within three years of taking A levels and failing to achieve the necessary grades for entry to the programme.

Join the nursing leaders of the future with our innovative course dedicated to teaching you how to help patients with mental health problems.
We'll show you how to develop a therapeutic relationship with your clients and give you the skills you need to help people with mental health problems. You'll work with social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and doctors and you'll be encouraged to engage with third sector and service user organisations.

Year 1
You'll focus on developing your understanding of health and wellbeing. You'll also gain a solid grounding in healthcare practice, and consider the role of nursing within health and social care.

You'll focus on ill-health and disease while developing your knowledge of quality care. You'll learn how to take a person-centred approach to healthcare, considering an individual's personal experience of ill-health when deciding how to care for them.

As you come to the end of your degree, you'll focus on working with individuals with complex needs, learning how to plan person-centred care in a variety of settings. You'll solidify your knowledge of safe practice, developing a secure understanding of how to access, assess and evaluate information and take appropriate action to address risk.
