Entry Requirements

The following documents are required for your application to be reviewed by the Admissions Committee:

  • Official secondary school transcript indicating courses completed with all grades

  • Official college transcript(s) from all previously attended universities (this is only required if you have attended college or taken college courses).

  • If necessary, have transcripts evaluated for foreign educational credential evaluation by a NACES Member Organization. Please note: SpanTran is our recommended international transcript evaluation service; they have a custom application that will make sure you select the correct type of evaluation at a discounted rate. 

  • Copy of your passport.

  • Bank Statement and Affidavit or financial guarantee. Your bank statement must show a minimum of $38,000 USD or the equivalent in your currency. 

English Requirements

Proof of English Proficiency. Minimum accepted scores include one of the following:

  • TOEFL (iBT 79)

  • IELTS score of 6

  • DuoLingo English Test score of 100

  • Pearson Test of English (PTEA) score of 53

Business Information Systems (BIS) professionals use information technology to meet the managerial, informational and technology needs of business organizations. BIS students develop technology skills, business knowledge and competency in leadership, analytical thinking, business intelligence, data mining, project management and teamwork.  Over the next decade, the number of BIS jobs will grow by 12 percent, faster than the overall job market.

Students in Eastern's Business Information Systems (BIS) Major develop technology skills, business knowledge and competency in leadership, analytical thinking, business intelligence, data mining, project management and teamwork as they gain a competitive edge in the job market. In addition to classroom theory, BIS students complete practical team projects, take service learning courses, work with advanced computer applications, design information systems and applications, and participate in related internships and co-ops. Other majors may also choose to take the BIS minor.
